Contact Tool Expert Reviews

I read every message that comes through this site. Whether you have a question about a tool, want to flag an error in a review, suggest a product I should cover, or push back on something I’ve written, please get in touch.

What to Include in Your Message

I get a steady flow of email, and I want to give you a useful, accurate response. To help with that, please include as much of the following as applies to your question:

  • Your experience level (beginner DIYer, weekend hobbyist, tradesperson, professional)
  • What you’re working on: the project or task the tool is for
  • Your budget range
  • Tools you’re already considering (model numbers help)
  • Any specific requirements: cordless preference, brand loyalty, size or weight limits, etc.

The more context I have, the more useful my reply will be. “Which drill should I buy?” is hard to answer well. “I’m a homeowner with a $150 budget, planning to hang shelves and assemble flat-pack furniture, considering the Ryobi P1811 vs the DeWalt DCD771C2” is something I can actually help with.

Common Reasons to Email

You spotted an error

If something on the site is wrong, outdated, or contradicts your own experience with a tool, I want to know. Errors get fixed.

You want a personal recommendation

If you’re choosing between specific models and want a second opinion, send the details and I’ll respond when I’ve worked through them.

You want to suggest a tool for review

I keep a backlog of tools readers have asked about. Send the make, model, and a sentence on why you think it’s worth covering.

You’re a manufacturer or PR contact

Please be aware that I do not run sponsored content, paid placements, or “review for samples” arrangements. If you’re writing about a product launch I should know about, I’ll read your email, but receipt of a product or press release does not produce coverage and never affects ratings. See the affiliate disclosure for the full editorial independence policy.

Response Time

I respond to email personally, not through an assistant or template. I aim to reply within a few business days, but I won’t promise a fixed turnaround. If you need a faster answer, the search box at the top of any page will often find what you’re looking for, and the buying guides and how-to articles already cover most common questions.
