Who I Am

This Privacy Policy describes how Tool Expert Reviews (toolexpertreviews.com), operated by Moses Washika from Nairobi, Kenya, collects and uses information about visitors to the website. The Short Version

I don’t sell your personal information to anyone. I run a small affiliate review site, not an advertising network. Most data collected here is the standard information any website receives when you visit (browser type, pages viewed, approximate location), used to understand how the site is being used and improve it. Affiliate links to Amazon and other retailers use cookies that those retailers control. You can opt out of analytics at any time using your browser’s privacy settings.

What Information This Site Collects

Information you provide directly

If you email me at hello@toolexpertreviews.com, your message and email address are stored in the mailbox where I read them. I use that information only to reply to your message. I do not add email addresses to any mailing list.

Information collected automatically when you visit

Like nearly every modern website, this site automatically receives certain information from your browser when you load a page, including:

  • Your IP address (used in aggregate to estimate geographic distribution of readers, not used to personally identify you)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system and device type
  • The page you visited and the page you arrived from (the “referrer”)
  • Date and time of the visit

This information is logged by my web hosting provider and by the analytics service I use, described below.

Google Analytics

Used to understand how visitors find and use the site (which articles are popular, how long visitors stay, where they come from). Amazon Associates

This site participates in the Amazon Associates affiliate program. When you click an Amazon link, Amazon may place cookies on your browser to attribute any resulting purchase to this site. These cookies are set by Amazon, not by me, and are governed by Amazon’s Privacy Notice. I do not receive personally identifiable information about you from Amazon, only aggregate referral and commission data.

Hosting and Content Delivery

The site is hosted by a third-party web host that processes server logs containing the technical information described above. The site may also use a content delivery network (CDN) to load pages faster, which may briefly cache content closer to your geographic location.

WordPress and WP Rocket

The site runs on WordPress, with the WP Rocket caching plugin to improve page speed. These tools may set technical cookies necessary for the site to function correctly.

I do not sell your personal information. The advertising and analytics activity described above may, under California’s broad definition, qualify as “sharing.” You can opt out by using the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, by using browser-based opt-out tools, or by emailing me at hello@toolexpertreviews.com.

Data Retention

Email exchanges with me are kept for as long as needed to handle your question and for a reasonable period afterward (typically no longer than 2 years), then deleted. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ standard retention period, set to the minimum available.

Data Security

I take reasonable steps to protect information collected through the site, including using HTTPS encryption for all pages, keeping WordPress and plugins up to date, and limiting access to backend systems to the operator only. That said, no method of transmitting or storing data is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Children’s Privacy

This site is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the site, email me at hello@toolexpertreviews.com and I will delete it.

International Data Transfers

The site is operated from Kenya. When you visit, your information may be processed in Kenya, in the country where the hosting provider’s servers are located, and in any other country where third-party service providers (such as Google) operate. By using the site, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own.

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the site, my practices, or applicable law. When changes are made, the “Last reviewed and updated” date at the top of this page is revised.
